Thanksgiving recipes to share and enjoy with your family and friends. Whether you are looking for information on how to best brine a turkey or how to smoke it to perfection, you will find that here alongside my best dessert recipes and best cranberry sauces.
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Cooking and Baking!
I have two turkey recipes, one is for dry-brining and smoking an entire bird. The other is for an oven-roasted turkey crown roast. A crown roast is perfect for smaller gatherings, for people who prefer white meat, or for those parties where turkey might not be the star of the show.
In fact, who not make duck or grouse instead of the turkey? Or alongside the turkey? Or even a hearty coq au vin if you have some spare roosters lying around?
Thanksgiving Starters & Appetizers
Make ahead appetizers to lay out for your guests while you put the finishing touches on dinner and everything else.
Traditional Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Potatoes, hearty warm salads, cranberry sauce, and homemade bread. Many of these can even be made ahead.
Thanksgiving & Autumn Desserts
These desserts are naturally leavened with sourdough starter or discard and have the benefit of being long-fermented if you wish. This makes the grains easier to digest. Sourdough desserts do not taste any different from their traditional counterparts, they're just better for you and your gut.
A signature cocktail for the adults or a soothing and decadent hot milk drink for children and adults alike, these are two of my favorite recipes.
